Hi, I'm Brennan.
I'm a full stack developer at Epsilon Industries and the lead mentor for FRC Team 4476, W.A.F.F.L.E.S. Robotics. This site is where I post my writing and the FRC tools I build on the side, mostly because I had a question about FRC data and nothing out there answered it.
FIRST
I've been in FIRST since 2006, when I started in FLL on the team that's now 105. My gateway to FRC was watching 1114, Simbotics, at a regional and at the World Championship in 2008. What hooked me was the excitement of big robots playing a game against each other in a real competitive scene. I joined FRC the next year and spent four seasons as a student on 2809, K-Botics, then two more on 4476, where I was a FIRST Leadership Award Finalist in 2014. I've mentored 4476 ever since, and these days I'm the lead mentor and a drive coach. I volunteer at events too.
4476 has always been a small team on a tight budget. What I'm proudest of is how consistently we get the most out of the people and money we have.

What I'm into
Scouting and strategy, mostly. On a small team, preparation is where we can make up ground, so that's where a lot of my time goes. I help build 4476's scouting system, and I talked through how it works in this video.
I like taking random stats and making them mean something: finding a new way to look at the data, or a better question to ask it. Most of the pages on this site started that way: lifetime points, win streaks, event history, all of them began as something I wanted to know and couldn't look up anywhere.
I'm also the commissioner of SLFF, a Fantasy FIRST league where players draft FRC teams and score points off how those teams do at their events. It runs on Discord, with a bot that handles the drafts and waivers. I play in it too.
Outside of robots
I play chess on chess.com, so if you want a game, find me there. I also pick up video games now and then, whatever looks fun at the time.
I've watched F1 since 2018. Max Verstappen caught my eye early because he was young and exciting to watch, and he's been my favorite driver ever since.
Things I've built here
Awards, match history and lifetime stats for every FRC team.
Every team ranked by district points across its whole history.
The longest winning and losing runs in FRC.
Every event since 1992, through its renames and moves.
Guess the FRC team, Wordle style.
The full list of tools, plus other people's that I use.
